Brian M. Barton

Brian M. Barton, age 56, of Portage, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart.  He was born in Gary, Indiana on July 12, 1962 to the late Monroe and Carolyn (nee Harrell) Barton.  He was a member of Teamsters, Local 142.  Brian was an avid fisherman and NASCAR fan.  He will be remembered as a loving companion, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Brian is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Antle of Portage; daughter, Kendra Antle of Portage; step son, James Antle of Portage; grandchildren, Cidney Vandiver, Mason Wilson; sister, Melanie (Skip) Lickenbrock of St. Libory, IL; brothers, Glenn (Robin) Barton of Chester, IL, Kennethray Eugene (Michele) Barton of Gainesville, GA; sisters in law, Shanon Miller of Portage, Barb (Sharon) Antle of La Porte; and other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother in law, Bill Antle; and his parents.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.

A memorial service for Brian will take place Friday, October 12, 2018 at 7:00 pm with Pastor Bob Burton officiating at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd.
