Gerald J. Waite

Gerald J. Waite, age 84, of Portage, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2018.  He was a graduate of Hobart High School, class of 1952.

A military veteran, Gerald served in the Navy on the USS Coral Sea during the Korean Conflict.  He also served on the Police force in San Diego, California.  Upon returning to Indiana, he worked for E.J. & E. Railroad as an engineer and then finally retiring with the Budd Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Dolores (nee Kopchak) Waite and is survived by his 3 children and 5 grandchildren.

His remains will reside at Calvary Memorial Chapel alongside his beloved wife.
