Adabelle Grasham, age 96, of Hobart passed away Tuesday December 8, 2015 at St Mary Medical Center. Adabelle was born September 1, 1919 in Reserve, KS to the late Edward and Hazel (White) Steinhauer. She was a homemaker who loved sewing and crochet work. She also enjoyed bowling. Adabelle was one of the first residents of the Linden House in Hobart and served on the Resident's Council for seven years.
Adabelle is survived by five sons, Phillip (Susan) Grasham of Crown Point, Richard (Angela) Grasham of Monterey, J. Frederick (Suzi) Grasham of Tuscon, AZ, John (Lynn) Grasham of Union Township, and Robert (Judy) Grasham of Lake Station; two daughters Judith (George) Tallant of Portage and Marilyn Nelson of Portage; Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Adabelle was preceded in death by her husband William J. Grasham, daughter Gail Grasham, granddaughter Carolyn Powell, her parents and three sisters Sylvia Nimmich, Lorain Hess and Shirley Merlo.
Visitation will be held at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342 from 2-7 pm on Sunday December 13, 2015. Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 pm Sunday with Chaplain Evonne Carter-Williams officiating at the funeral home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at the Horton Cemetery in Horton, KS at 12:00 noon on Tuesday December 15, 2015.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are preferred to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
