Adam Rogozinski, age 99, of Hobart, passed away Monday, May 11, 2020. He was born on December 18, 1920 in Posen, Illinois to the late Stanislaw and Maryjanna Rogozinski. Shortly after he was born, his family moved back to Poland where he was raised. In June of 1948 at the age of 27, he returned to the United States, where he would spend the rest of his life. In 1957, he traveled to Poland to visit his family. There he met Lillian Kempczynski, married her two weeks later and brought her back to the United States. Adam retired from US Steel in 1985 after 37 years of working as a Steelworker. He was a dedicated member of Assumption of the Virgin Mary Catholic Church. He spent most of his days after retirement at home where he enjoyed fixing things and caring for his garden.
Adam is survived by his heart broken wife, Lillian Rogozinski; daughters, Donna Marie Baum, Therese (Gregory) Nowak; grandchildren, Brandon Baum, Lindsay Nowak, MD., Michelle Nowak, Nicole Nowak.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Stella, Gwen, Josephine and Frances.
A private funeral service for Adam will take place at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. He will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.
