Adelaide Rivera

Adelaide Rivera, age 66 a longtime Portage resident passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020.  She was born on September 2, 1954 in East Chicago, Indiana to the late Faustino and Elena Gallardo.  Adelaide loved cooking and hanging out with her grandchildren and family. She enjoyed telling jokes even when they were lame. She is survived by one son, Michael Rivera of Portage, IN; one daughter, Melissa (John) Weidenbach of Portage, IN; three brothers, Robert (Sue) Gallardo, Ben (Geri) Gallardo, Raul (Julie) Gallardo all of Portage, IN; two sisters, Antonia (Cris) Lugo of Portage, IN; Linda Pedroza of Valparaiso, IN Esther Gonzalez of Portage; two grandchildren, Logan and Austyn and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Matthew Rivera and two brothers,  Tony and Isaiah. Please note that due to Porter County Covid-19 restrictions the visitation will be limited to 25 people at one time.  Masks will be required, and hand sanitizer will be available.  We ask that everyone helps us in keeping everyone safe and practices social distancing. Cremation will take place with Rees Funeral Home, and Cremation Service, Portage.  Memorial visitation is Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave, Portage.  (219) 762-3013.
