Agnes A. Cox, age 96, a longtime resident of Portage passed away on Saturday, September 03, 2011. She was born on January 6, 1915 in North Judson, Indiana, the daughter of Godlep and Mary Trinoskey. Agnes was married to Charles D. Cox, Jr. who preceded her in death. Agnes was a member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, the Ladies Sodality,the Lake Station Historical Society, and the Bonner Senior Center. She enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress. She also loved doing crafts and listening to music.

Agnes is survived by her loving family; sons Charles (Evelyn) Cox, DeMotte, Thomas (Sharron) Cox, Portage, William (Lori) Cox, Hobart, and David (Stephie) Cox, Valparaiso, grandchildren Jeff (Nancy) Wilson, Cynthia (Jeff) Ogrowdowski, Michele (Peter) Caruso, Paula (Rich) Caudillo, Rebecca Cox, Paul(Kaylena) Cox, Lori (Jeff) Knight, Billy Cox, Thecla(Eric)Hatch, Tiffany(Tony)Litzelman , many great-grandchildren, and other loving family and dear friends. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles D. Cox, Jr., her brother Valerian Trinoskey, and her brother Virgil Trinosky.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 12, 2011 directly at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2447 Putnum Street, Lake Station, with Father Eduardo Malagon, officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. A short visitation to greet the family will occur from 9:00 am until the time of service on Monday at the church.
