AGNES E. HEMINGER (nee Powoznik), age 86, of Hobart, passed away Monday, February 28, 2011. Agnes was employed as a bookkeeper for Miller Drug Company since 1975 and had retired from National Tube in Gary. Agnes was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and the St. Anne's Sodality. She was also involved in the Gary Art League and Hobart Arts League. She will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her husband of over 63 years, Albert "Ray" Heminger; daughters, Sandra (John) Sessions of Liberty Township and Gail Shaw of Crown Point; grandchildren, Jeremy Sessions, Adam (Faith) Sessions, Brooke Sessions, and Kyle Naumowich; 4 great grandchildren; other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Powoznik; grandson, Christian Sessions; twin great grandsons; sister, Mary Riddle and Irene Powoznik.

A funeral mass for Agnes will be Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 568 E. Second St., Hobart, with Rev. Dominic V. Bertino officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation for Agnes will be Wednesday, March 2, 2011 from 3-8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. There will be additional visitation on Thursday at St. Bridget Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.
