AGNES "AGGIE" HUNTER, age 81, of Hobart, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016. She was born in Detroit, MI on February 13, 1935 to the late John and Edna Josephine Picard. Aggie worked at Budd Company until they closed in 1972 and was a member of Assumption B.V.M. Church. She was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Red Wings and loved music, especially Bob Seger. Aggie enjoyed going to garage sales, mowing her grass, weekly trips to the laundromat and walking the track or treadmill. She touched many lives with her generous spirit and unforgettable personality. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
Aggie is survived by her 2 daughters, Brenda Swallow and Linda (Fred) Yager; 6 grandchildren, Chuck (Erin) Swallow, Jennifer (Arthur) Yager, Brian (Laurie) Swallow, Richard Swallow, Adam Yager, JoAnne (Mark) Gildersleeve; 7 great grandchildren, Alexis, Lily, Carson, Vyctorya, Nathan, Cade and Molly; nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ford Hunter, Jr.; son-in-law, Chuck Swallow; 2 brothers, Jim and Donald; and 3 sisters, Madeline, Jeanette and Sharon.
Funeral services for Aggie will be Saturday, February 20, 2016 beginning with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., and going in procession to Assumption B.V.M. Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Lourdu Pasala officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, February 19, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a 3:30 p.m. prayer service and a 7:00 p.m. Rosary.
