Agnes R. Sielski

Agnes R. Sielski (nee Bulot), age 88, of Lake Station and formerly of Merrillville, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 26, 2017.  She was born on February 28, 1929 in Lucerne, PA to the late Anthony and Catherine Bulot. Agnes enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting and hosting family gatherings. She loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. Agnes and her late husband, Cas, spent every Summer at their cabin on Blindfold Lake in Canada. Much of her free time was spent with her best friend and loving sister, Esther.

She is survived by her children, Karen Blajsczak of Ohio, Anthony (Kathy) Sielski of Valparaiso, Cassandra Stoica of Lake Station; grandchildren, Stephanie (Brad) Ashbrook, Kim (Dave) Blayney, Carrie (Ed) Keener, Joanna (Beau) Arnason, Brittney (Lance) Schmidt, Haley Stoica, Danny Stoica, Ben Sielski, Allison (Kevin) Rance; 13 great grandchildren; her sister and very best friend, Esther Weinberg; daughter-in-law, Theresa Sielski; loving caregiver, Sherrie Harsma.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Casimer "Dzia" Sielski; brothers, Tony, Joe, Chucky and Johnny; sisters, Vicky, Ann, Bea and Dee Dee. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Agnes' name may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 50 E 91 ^st Street Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sherrie Harsma for the loving care she provided for their mother.

A funeral service for Agnes will take place Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. She will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the funeral home.
