Alan John Butkus, age 69, of Hobart passed away Wednesday June 24, 2015 in St. Mary Medical Center. Alan was born September 18, 1945 in Gary, Indiana to the late Leopold "Al" and Mary (Kosin) Butkus. Alan was a retired pharmacy technician for Omni-Tech, Inc. He was a car enthusiast that loved all kinds of auto racing.

Alan is survived by his two sisters Lynn (Donald) Huttle of Hobart and Kathleen Pszonka of Fenton, MO; two nieces Lisa James and Karen Pszonka; two nephews Matthew Huttle and Kenneth Pszonka; and his adopted children John (Susan) Collmar of Brownsburg, Kenneth Collmar of Rensselaer and Kelly (Jim) Crownover of Hobart; nine grandchildren Jordan, Hayley, Nathan, Allen, Austin, Jacob, Cameron, Wendy and Summer; and two great grandsons Aaron and Joey.

Alan was preceded in death by his loving parents Al and Mary.

Memorial visitation will begin Saturday June 27, 2015 at 3 pm and conclude with a brief prayer at 7 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Alan requested cremation services.
