Obituary

Albert O. Haack, age 82, of Portage, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016. He was born on April 26, 1934 in East Chicago, Indiana to the late Oscar and Catherine Haack. He retired in 1992 after working for 42 years as a Millwright for US Steel. He also worked for Smith's Appliances and Eddy's Appliances making house calls to repair televisions, washing machines and other small appliances. Albert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed camping and fishing in the outdoors and will always be remembered as a dedicated father, grandfather and friend to many.

He is survived by his sons, Dennis (Brenda) Haack, Gary Haack, Alan (Tammy) Haack; daughter, Sherri (David) Specht; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; brother, Raymond (Daisy) Haack; sister, Margaret Cox.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joann (nee Rich) Haack; 4 sisters, Frances, Alice, Barbara, and Cathy.

A funeral service for Albert will take place Friday, November 11, 2016 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation for Albert will be held Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the funeral home.
