Albert "Ray" Heminger
Hobart, Indiana
Ray Heminger passed away, Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at VNA Hospice surrounded by his loving family. Albert was born January 19, 1923, in Kewanna, Indiana to the late Leonard H. and Octavia C. (Calvin) Heminger. Ray was a 1982 retiree credit manager for Modulus Corporation in Gary, IN, and proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He is survived by two daughters; Sandra (John) Sessions of Liberty Township, Valparaiso, IN and Gail Shaw of Crown Point, IN, four grandchildren Kyle Naumowich, Jeremy, Adam and Brooke Sessions and five great-grandchildren.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, wife Agnes E (nee Powoznik) Heminger, grandson; Christian Sessions, twin great grandsons, two sisters; Helen Heminger and Leah Felinski, three brothers; John, Whit and George Heminger.
A funeral service for Ray will be Saturday, August 31, 2013 beginning with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, and processing to St. Bridget's Catholic Church, 568 East, 2nd Street, Hobart for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Dominic V. Bertino officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park, Merrillville, IN. Visitation will be Friday, August 30, 2013 from 2-8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, with a 6:00 p.m. American Legion Post 54 service.
