Albert C. Nelson

Albert C. Nelson, age 84, of Wheeler passed away Monday January 7, 2019 at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso.  He was born December 12, 1934 in Fish Lake to the late Wilbur and Sarah Nelson.  He was the oldest of ten children.  Al retired from Bethlehem Steel where he was a machine shop foreman with over thirty years of service.  He also proudly served in the US Army, 82 ^nd Airborne.

Albert is survived by his loving wife Donna; one son, Mark (Leslie) Nelson of Koontz Lake; two grandchildren, Christina Nelson and Daniel Nelson; two sisters, Mary Brown and Jeannie Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son Michael; his parents; and seven brothers and sisters.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday January 18, 2019 at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342.   A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday with Chaplain Mike Porter officiating.  Burial of Albert's cremated remains will follow in Graceland Cemetery Valparaiso, Indiana.

Memorial gifts are preferred to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
