Aleja, age 78, of Lake Station, passed away Thursday, February 25,2021, while surrounded by her loving family. Aleja was born on February 17, 1943 in Puerto Rico to the late EpFanio and Ignacia Santana she was the owner and operator of J & A Foods in Lake Station. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.  She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn (Exio )Rosario; 5 grandchildren, Gabriel Rosario, Kanya Ballenger, Edwin Manuel Rosario, Selena Rosario, and Jessica Rosario; numerous great grandchildren, four brothers, EpFanio Jr, Herminio (Nilda) Ruben and Benjamin (Annette) Santana, sister, Lydia Santana and many other loving family members and friends. Aleja was preceded in death by her sons, Edwin and Manuel Rosario, her parents, brother, David Santana and sister LuzEsther Perez.A graveside committal for Aleja will be held Tuesday, March 2,2021 at 1:00 p.m. directly at McCool Cemetery 2700 McCool Rd Portage, Indiana 46368.
