Alice Anne Bobele Vendl, age 49 of Valparaiso passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017. She was born on July 9, 1967 in Gary, Indiana. She graduated from Wheeler High School, Class of 1985. For many years Alice managed several Pizza Hut locations. She was an avid gardener and also enjoyed oil painting and sketching. She also loved Ford Mustangs. Alice battled Multiple Sclerosis for many years and was very passionate about supporting and volunteering for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. She will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter and sister.
She is survived by two sons, Evan Vendl of Dyer, IN; Cole Vendl of Dyer, IN; one daughter, Shelby Vendl of Dyer, IN; mother, Susan Kay (Wayne) Johnson (nee Davis) of Leesburg, IN; one brother, Mickey (Janice) Bobele of Valparaiso, IN; two sisters, Cathy Wilson of Indianapolis, IN; Michele (Glen Pilkington) Bobele of SC; one step-brother, Wayne (Debbie) Johnson of Carmel, IN; three step-sisters, Deb Campbell of AZ; Lori (Matt) Blaschke of Valparaiso, IN; and Susan Johnson of Indianapolis, IN. .
She was preceded in death by her father Michael Bobele, and grandparents, Viola and Arnold Davis and Alice and Bill Ridgely.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Indiana State Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Arthur B. and Ethel V. Horton VNA Hospice.
Funeral services are Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Rev. Rebecca Lynn Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visitation is Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
