Alice Boone (nee Del Castillo)

Age 85 of Florida formerly of Northwest, Indiana passed away Friday, June 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 3, 1939, in Gary, Indiana to the late Joseph Del Castillo and Frances Zaitz. Alice was a retired administrative assistant at U.S. Steel, owned her own business, and proudly served her country in the United States Navy. Alice loved to travel, but most of all she loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Alice is survived by her son, Kirk (Renata) Boone of Oswego, Illinois; daughter, Yvonne (Brian) LaFary; four grandchildren, Collin, Landon, Max and Ava; two brothers, Joseph Del Castillo and Phillip Del Castillo both of Hobart; one sister, Rita Beird of Hammond and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward E. Boone and her parents.

A funeral service for Alice will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana. A burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will also be held Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 9:00 am until time of service.
