Alice Ciesielski, age 78, of Portage, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016. She was born on February 2, 1938 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Konstanty and Elizabeth (nee Rupik) Koszyk. She was an active member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church in Portage. On July 2, 1960, Alice married the love of her life, Leonard M. Ciesielski in South Bend, Indiana. Alice's greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and hosting family holidays. She was an avid Cubs fan. She enjoyed gardening, concerts, movies, cooking, bowling, her dachshunds and spending time with her friends at Curves. Alice will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Alice is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Leonard ; four sons, Mark (Rhonda), David (Rosalinda), Eric (Tronda), and Allen; nine grandchildren, Aaron (Alicia), Alicia (Tristan), Alexander, Jessica, Matthew, Alexandria, Zachary, Marissa and Jacob, numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory; her parents; six brothers, Bert, Cass, John, Ervin, Joseph and Eugene Koszyk; and sister, Mary Major.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church or to VNA Hospice of Valparaiso would be appreciated.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 10:00 am directly at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, 2949 Willowcreek Road, Portage, Indiana 46368 with Father Andrew J. Corona officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage.
