Alice V. Crouch (nee Muir), age 78 of Hobart passed away Monday, August 15, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Andrew Crouch in 1990. Alice was born on April 16, 1933 to the late Harvey and Kathryn Muir. She was a lifetime Hobart resident and worked as a Clerk for Glen Park Bakery, retiring in 1981. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and embroidering. Alice was like a mother to her nieces and nephews and she loved spoiling them as if they were her own children.

She is survived by 1 brother, R. Daniel (Barbara) Muir of Portage, IN; 5 sisters, S. Agnes (late Edward) Grochowski of DeMotte, IN; H. Marie (late Elmer) Westen of LaPorte, TX; Joyce A. (Jim) Meister of Bremen, IN; Leona J. (Joel) Stark of Hobart, IN; Linda K. (Dr. Dennis) Waite of Richmond, VA; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jeffrey Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville. Visitation is Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
