Allen D. "Al" Cox, age 76, of Hobart, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016. He was born on October 1, 1940 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Richard and June Cox. He was currently employed as a manager at Ultra Foods. He was an avid fan and season ticket holder of Valparaiso University Basketball. Al enjoyed camping with his family for the last 24 years at Jellystone Park in Plymouth.

Al is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Linda Cox; son, Kevin (Julie Kamradt) Cox; daughter, Cassandra Cox; grandchildren, Jamie (Kenny) Rogers, Zakary Cox and Addison Cox; great grandchildren, Olivia and Nora Rogers; mother of Jamie and Zakary, Malisa Cox; sister, Linda Taylor; many other loving family members and friends; and his devoted dog, Fritz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and June Cox; brother, Darrell Cox; brother in law, William Taylor. Memorial contributions in Al's name may be made to Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donor Network, 425 Spring Lake Drive, Itasca, IL 60143-2076.

A funeral service for Al will take place Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
