Allen Dewayne Horner

Age 68, of Portage, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at his sister's home. He was born on October 11, 1955, in Richmond, Indiana to Robert Eugene and Jane (nee Schelke) Horner. He was a 1973 Portage High School graduate, he then attended Indiana college of Business and Technology where he earned an Associate Degree in computer systems analyzing. He was a coach for his children's baseball, basketball, and softball teams. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, but most of all he loved spending time with his children, playing Cribbage, and card games, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Allen was a Bears, White Sox's, Blackhawk, and Bulls fan.

He is survived by his son, Ryan M. (Amy) Horner, three daughters, Cara N. (Chris) Rogers, Alison (Kevin) Wells and Blair (Jimmy) Leveille; 11 grandchildren, Emma Horner, Lillian Horner, Carter Rogers, Camree Rogers, Carlee Rogers, Matilda Horner, James Leveille, Brady Wells, Andie Wells, Carsyn Rogers, and Heston Leveille; father, Bob Horner; mother, Jane Horner; five siblings, Dennis (Cheryl) Horner, Ron (Teresa) Horner, Deb Moffitt, Sandy (Jerry) Matthews, and Linda Horner; and numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Allen was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Hollis Schelke and paternal grandparents, Daniel, and Linda Horner.

A memorial will be held Monday April 22, 2024, at 10:00 am, with Pastor Scott Jones officiating at Renovation Church 621 N. County Road 450 W., Valparaiso, IN 46383.
