Alma Marie Privett

Alma Marie Privett, age 79, of Portage, IN passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Alma was born on September 15, 1944, in Pine Knot, Kentucky to the late John and Mossie (Stephans) Lay. On December 26, 1964, Vernon Privett received his most treasured Christmas present, his bride Alma Marie Lay, and spent 58 loving years together. She was a past member of Lakeview Baptist and formerly attended Bible Baptist. Alma enjoyed her time with family, most of all her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Alma is survived by her loving husband, Vernon Privett; Son, Joey (Tina) Privett; grandchildren, Brittany, and Justin Privett; brother, Lendon (Brenda) Lay; five sisters, Patricia Privett, Barbara (Lonnie) Stephens, Yvonna Baldridge, Mary Davies, Zedra (Jerry) Sears and Kathy (Gus) Lay; her fur baby, Sammy and many other loving family members and friends.

Alma was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers-in-law, Eugene Privett, Danny Baldridge, and Bill Davies.

Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Ave. Portage on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 3:00-8:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 9:00 A.M. also at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, Portage.
