Amelia S. Carlson

Hobart, Indiana

Age 88, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Miller's Merry Manor in Hobart previously of Brentwood Retirement Home. Amelia was born March 31,1922 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Albert and Anna Tony. She retired from Indiana University in 1989 where she worked in the administration department. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Merrillville, Eastern Star of Hobart, NWI Retirees Association, and the past President of Dunes Chapter and State Commander of Indiana of the women WWII Sub Vets.
Amelia is survived by her loving family; daughter Barbara A. (nee Carlson) (Randall) Remus of Hobart, brother; George (Patricia) Tony of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania and sister; Edna Fiore of Vineland, New Jersey, numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Albert F. Carlson, 3 brothers; Abe, Michael and Mickey Tony, sister; Marie Ellis.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 30,2010 at 11:00 am at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 5375 Harrison Street Merrillville, Indiana 46410 with Rev. Justin Baxter officiating. With a additional visitation from 10:00 till time of service. Visitation will be Monday, November 29,2010 from 3:30 to 9:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
