Amelio Gonzalez, Jr., age 66, of Lake Station passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on April 6, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois to Amelio and Liduvina Gonzalez. Amelio formerly worked as a supervisor for Area Transportation. In his free-time, he enjoyed fishing, woodcarving and camping. He will always be remembered as a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend to those who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela Suarez; mother, Liduvina Gonzalez; companion, Laura Truelove; granddaughter, Elliana Montez; siblings, Alma Gonzalez, Ruben Gonzalez, Nora (Hugo) Bravo, Anita Cartagena, Sandra (Robert) Otero, Albert Gonzalez; and many loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Amelio Gonzalez, Sr.

A funeral service for Amelio will take place Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Ave., Lake Station, IN 46405.
