Andrea C. (Steffus) Turnak, age 83 of Portage passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 15, 2025. She was born on October 10, 1941, in Gary, Indiana to the late Andrew and Josephine Steffus. Andrea was a 1959 graduate of Lew Wallace High School. On August 20, 1960, she married Richard Turnak. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family and in her later years was known by them as glitzy grandma because of her involvement with her grandkids and her love of shopping and fashion.  She volunteered her time as a room mother and worked as a bookkeeper for her husband's business. Andrea was a devoted member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Parish and was very active in the sodality. Additionally, she was a member of the Portage Chapter of Tri Kappa. She will always be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Richard Turnak; son, Dr. Mark (Leanne) Turnak of Hingham, MA; daughter, Dr. Danielle (Joe Gangstad) Turnak of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Julia Turnak, Caroline Turnak, Luke Turnak, Andrew Gangstad, and Katrina Gangstad.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Josephine Steffus.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, February 28, 2025, at 11:00 am at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, 2949 Willowcreek Road, Portage.
