Andrew "Andy" Petkovich, age 70, of Hobart passed away suddenly Friday December 14, 2012 at the St. Mary Medical Center. Andy was born February 27, 1942 in Gary, Indiana to the late Emil and Clotelle (Sands) Petkovich. Andy was a self-employed roofer. He and his loving wife Linda were the owners and operators of A&L Companies in Hobart. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman and was a member of "Ducks Unlimited". Andy had served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church. On January 28, 1962 he married Linda (Langbehn) Petkovich.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda; one son Michael (Amy) Petkovich of Medina, OH; one daughter Sarah (Jim) Richter of Hobart; seven grandchildren Emily, Molly, Lauren, Tyler, Nicholas, Alaina and Matthew; one brother Patrick Petkovich of Michigan City; two sisters Pamela McGrew of Valparaiso and Anella Dixon of Muncie; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1p.m. Tuesday December 18, 2012 at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342 with Rev. Charles R. Strietelmeier officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
