Anita Kay Melton, age 53, of Winfield/Crown Point passed away Wednesday January 4, 2017 at the Wittenberg Lutheran Village in Crown Point. Anita was born October 19, 1963 in East Chicago, Indiana to Wendell and Betty (Hunley) Stewart. Anita was an interior designer. She was very artistic and crafty and also enjoyed working for the Lakes of the Four Seasons fund raising committee. Anita was also a dedicated member of the Town and Country Christian Church.

Anita is survived by her loving husband, Michael of Crown Point; two children, Savanah (fiancé Wyatt Creech) Melton and Sage Melton both of Crown Point; her parents, Wendell and Betty Stewart of Jacksonville, FL; her sister, Tammy (Richard) Gerber of Yulee, FL and many friends and extended family members.

A Memorial service will be conducted at 4 pm Sunday January 8, 2017 at the Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph Street, Crown Point, IN 46307 with Pastor Joseph Mollet officiating. A memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial gifts are preferred to the Boone Grove High School Soccer Program in lieu of flowers.
