Anna M. Brown, age 79, of Portage, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016. She was born on December 10, 1937 in Attica, Indiana to the late Lawrence W. and Callie M. (nee Whitlock) Gaskill. She was an avid bowler at Camelot and Rays lanes and was on Great Eagles and Camelot Chicks Leagues. She competed Nationally, Statewide and Locally. She was a World Wide Competitor FIQ. Anna loved square dancing and was a member and 1st charter member of Iliana Square Wheelers Camping Club and was a part of the square dancing community for 40 plus years. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
Anna is survived by her loving children; four sons, Cecil (Susan) Delph of Crown Point, Robert (Donna) Delph of Anniston, Alabama, Donald (Pam) Brown of Orland Park, Illinois and Robert Brown of Gary, Indiana; daughter, Sherry (Bill) Clark of Lansing, Kansas; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Anna Lou Gaskill; brother-in-law, Kenneth Hunsaker; special friend, Dennis Wright of Portage, and many other loving family members and friends.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin B. Brown, her parents; two brothers and one sister.
A funeral service will be held Friday July 15, 2016 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana, 46368. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, Indiana 46375.
