Obituary

Anna Mae Charnetzky, age 75, of Portage passed away Thursday March 28, 2013 at the Porter Regional Hospital Valparaiso, Indiana. She was born June 10, 1937 in Gary, Indiana to the late Russell and Ruth Kneale. She was a homemaker, mother and wife that will be dearly missed by her family and friends. On January 19, 1957 Anna married Leonard Charnetzky at the Central Christian Church Gary, Indiana. Anna was a former employee of US Steel Financial Committee where she worked as an analyst. She loved to paint on both Canvases and Ceramics in her spare time.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Leonard; three sons Michael (Sally Ann) Charnetzky of Jacksonville, FL, Steven (Annette) Charnetzky and David (Joyce) Charnetzky both of Portage; four grandchildren Steve, Kristin, David and Danica; her brother-in-law Luke Dieffenbach; her sister-in-law Patricia Dahlgren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers Miles, Robert, Jerry (wife Betty) and Russell Kneale, Jr.; father-in-law Edgar Charnetzky; mother-in-law Edna (Kane) Charnetzky; brother-in-law Dale Dahlgren and sister-in-law Peggy Dieffenbach.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 5 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. Cremation will follow.
