Anna B. Marko, age 90 a longtime Gary resident passed away, Monday, April 18, 2016. She was born on November 2, 1925 in Dawson, Pennsylvania to the late Edward and Zola (Wingrove) Goodman. She worked for many years as a Nanny and Housekeeper. She was a longtime member of the Hobart First Church of the Nazarene. At the age of seven, she started sipping her mom's coffee and loved the taste. This continued as she grew up. A cup of coffee while reading her Bible was the start to every day. Ann was a wonderful mother who loved God, loved beautiful flowers, baking cakes, homemade bread, and canning.
She is survived by one son, Michael K. Marko of Gary, IN; one daughter, Judy (Robert) Peterson of Merrillville, IN; ; one grandson, Joseph (Julie) Aguilar, and two great-granddaughters, Jessica and Jenna; Former son-in-law, Joseph (Carolynn) Aguilar, two granddaughters, Kim (nee Peterson) Bolton, Vicki (Marc) Marshall, five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, and many other loving friends. To know Ann was to love her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Marko Jr., in 1979.
Funeral services are Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 12 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Rev. Roy Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Visitation is Thursday, April 21, 2016 just prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
