ANNETTE BLACKWELL, age 56, of Lake Station, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 16, 1959 in Chicago, IL. Annette had worked at the Post Tribune and Paragon. She was a member of GracePoint Church and was very involved in AA, NA and Al Anon. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Rebecca (Jeremy) Silver and Sarah Blackwell-Yarchan; grandchildren, Brianna, Kyle, Lila, Makayla, Gabe, Cayven, Jessie III and Richard Joshua; brother, Mark (Nikki) Denning; sister, Janet Toman; uncle, James Speller; Aunt Marian Marquez; many cousins.

Annette was preceded in death by 3 children, Jessica Blackwell, Richard J. Yarchan, and Elizabeth Blackwell-Yarchan; mother, Geraldine Denning; grandmother, Gladys Speller; grandmother, Virginia Bojanowski; 2 aunts, Anne Derkowski and Lola Speller.

A visitation for Annette will be Thursday, June 11, 2015 from Noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W.
