Antonio Govea

Antonio Govea, age 87, of Apache Junction, AZ and formerly of Portage and Burns Harbor passed away Monday July 18, 2016. Antonio was born June 11, 1929 in Laredo, TX to the late Francisco and Epigmnia (Dominguez) Govea. He was a steel worker with twenty-nine years of service with Inland Steel.

Antonio is survived by three sons, Daniel (Tomasa) Govea of Hammond, Eduardo (Elsa) Govea of Spring, TX and Arthur (Isabel)Govea of Hobart; three daughters, Patricia (Larry) Bowman of Arizona, Betty (Pablo) Gallegos of New Mexico and Lourdres (Alfredo) Ramos of Arizona ; and twelve grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mabel, his brother Andrez Govea, and two sisters Lupe Silva and Esperanza Lopez.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday July 23, 2016 at Ridgelawn Cemetery 4401 W. Ridge Road Gary, IN 46408 with Minister Paul Bush officiating. Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm Friday at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Ave. Portage, Indiana 46368 and end with a brief prayer service at 8:00 pm.
