Antonio J. Sanchez

Antonio J. "Tony" Sanchez, age 45, of Hobart, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.  He was born in Gary, Indiana on July 7, 1973.  .  He earned an Associate's Degree in Applied Science with a background in Electronics Technology.  Tony worked for Ameristar as a slot technician supervisor and enjoyed playing baseball.

Tony is survived by his daughter, Aliya Sanchez; mother, Carmen (nee Sanchez) Fierro; siblings, Linda Fierro, Jose Fierro, Daniel Fierro; Aunts and Uncles, Adolfo (Joyce) Sanchez, Jr., Steven (Lorraine) Sanchez, Angelita (Carlos) DeJesus; nephew, Michael; mother of his child, Lorraine Sanchez; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, Adolfo and Eva Sanchez; and aunts and uncles, Antonio Sanchez, Louis Sanchez, Louisa DeJesus, Genaro Sanchez.

A funeral service for Tony will take place Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage, IN 46368.  He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, Portage.  Vistitation will be held Friday, April 19, 2019 from 2-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.  For more information, please call 219-762-3013.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.reesfuneralhomes.com.
