Arbie Dewayne Taylor

Age 74, of Hobart, Indiana, passed away on January 21,2026. He was born on July 21, 1951, in Gary, Indiana to the late Oliver and Mary Taylor. He was a 1970 Merrillville High School graduate. Arbie dedicated many years of his working life as a custodian at Chesterton Junior High School, where he was known for his reliability and quiet dedication to keeping the school a welcoming place for students and staff. Arbie was a huge Beatles fan, he found joy in music and had a special fondness for the Godzilla movies, which brought him simple happiness, and he also greatly enjoyed eating. Above all, Arbie deeply loved his parents and devoted himself to caring for them prior to their passing, a true reflection of his kind heart and sense of responsibility. Arbie will be remembered for his loyalty, gentle spirit, and the quiet love he showed to those closest to him. As the Beatles say "Let It Be."

He is survived by his sister, Dorothy King, and numerous loving nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Taylor; mother, Mary (nee Tarchala) Taylor; brothers, Paul, Eddie, Oliver Jr. and Andrew Taylor; sisters, Irene Cleveland, Catherine Blank and Bernice Gorrell.
