Arlene J. Camarena (nee Johnston), age 75, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012. She was born on October 3, 1936 in Gary, Indiana, the daughter of Adrian and Maude Johnston. Arlene was a homemaker, bartender, waitress, and bus driver, who enjoyed traveling in the RV with her husband Robert, whom she dearly loved and her dog Rex, playing bingo, and the Jayshees. Arlene will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother sister and sister-in-law.
Arlene is survived by her sons; Robert Camarena of Miami, Florida and Tim (Michelle) Camarena of Nashville, Tennessee, daughters; Lori Williams of Laporte, Indiana, Nikki Noak of Crown Point, Indiana and Andrea (Scott) Currin of Coal City, Illinois, 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sister; Adrienne (Joseph) Goulden of Clearwater, Florida and sister-in-law Irene Hinojosa of Hobart, Indiana. Her husband Robert Camarena and her parents preceded her in death.
A memorial visitation for Arlene will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Rees Funeral Home – Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Rees Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date.
