Arlene Leonard

Arlene Leonard, age 85, of Lake Station, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018. She was born on January 27, 1932 in Gary, Indiana to the late Ture and Christina Soderquist. In her free time, Arlene enjoyed playing Yahtzee and doing puzzles. She was a dedicated member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Above all, she loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them.

Arlene is survived by her sons, Dennis (Camille) Leonard, Jim (Lorie) Leonard; daughters, Diane Leonard, Sandy (Dan) Waldrop, Pam (Marty) Huff; son-in-law, Jon Chontos; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, David (Kathy) Soderquist;  sister-in-law, Jane Soderquist; many other loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends; two beloved dogs, Ben and Sarge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Leonard; daughter, Karen Chontos; brother, Bob Soderquist; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Alfred Kuechenberg. Memorial contributions in Arlene's name may be made to Harbor Light Hospice.

A funeral service for Arlene will take place Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6240 Grand Blvd., Hobart with visitation there from 10:00 am until the time of service. Rev. Frederic Lams is officiating. She will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
