Obituary

Arnold L. Key moved to his Father's house on August 11, 2013. He was born in Walker County, Alabama, in 1920. Raised on a farm, he plowed with oxen, made crops with obstreperous mules, skidded logs in the Forest, and worked in a sawmill. In 1942, he enlisted in the US Army and fought with the 945th Artillery Battalion, following Patton's Third Army throughout Europe. After the war, he moved his young family to Gary, Indiana, where he found work as a pipefitter for US Steel. He was a member of United Steelworkers of America Local 1014, and the American Legion. He served as Deacon for the New Hope Baptist Church. He was that man of integrity, spoken of in the Bible, who was so honest that he would give testimony against his own interest in a court of law.
He is survived by his only son, Jerry Wayne Key (Linda), four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. We will miss his smiling, gentle presence.
