Artemese Elizabeth Hedberg

Artemese Elizabeth Hedberg, age 77 of Miller Beach, Indiana passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022. She was born on January 21, 1944, in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Theodore and Artemese Smith. She held two master's degrees and worked as a computer programmer for BP Amoco. She led her children and grandchildren by example, always pushing them to be the best version of themselves. She was a very kind woman who had a great love for learning and encouraged all of her family members to go to college.

She is survived by her daughters, Laura Banks and Linda Hedberg; grandchildren, Amber (William Blackway) Hedberg, Brittany Reyes, Nicole Nelson, Dawn (Jomar Nieves) Nieves-Reyes, Vincent Banks, Christin Hedberg; great grandchildren, Joselyn, Anastazia, Ysabella, Carlos, Marianna and Esmina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Artemese Smith.

A funeral service for Artemese will take place Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Ave., Lake Station, Indiana 46405.
