Arthur Kenneth Richa, age 85 of Hobart passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024. He was born on January 12, 1939, in Kankakee, Illinois to the late Kenneth and Vivian Richa. In 1962, he married Sandra Elam in Bradley, Illinois. Art retired from Bethlehem Steel where he worked as an Electrician for 31 years. Art was a past president of St. Vincent de Paul Society and volunteered for over ten years at the Hobart Food Pantry.  He will always be remembered for his benevolent nature.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra (nee Elam) Richa; sons, Ronald (Melody) Richa, David (Dawn) Richa; daughter-in-law, Kim Richa; grandchildren, Jessica (Marc) Piazza, Bryan (Kim) Richa, Jr., Pamela Richa, Grace Richa, Grant Richa; great grandchildren, Jacob, Zoe, Jackson, Avery, and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Vivian Richa; and son, Bryan Richa.

Memorial contributions in Art's name may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Assumption Church.

Visitation for Arthur will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 9:00am until 10:30am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11:00am at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 3530 Illinois St., New Chicago with prayers starting at the funeral home at 10:30.
