Arthur W. Sellers, Jr.

Arthur W. Sellers, Jr. age 91, a Portage resident of 52 years, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018. He was born on November 23, 1926 in Orlando, FL to the late Arthur W. Sellers and Edna Barnhart (nee Livly). He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII. He graduated from LSU with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1952. He retired from US Steel with 30 years of service including 28 in management of the Coke Plant, also on various consulting jobs both abroad and domestic. He was a volunteer tax preparer at the Bonner Senior Center for 12 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 68 years, Eleanor B. Sellers (nee Barfield). He is survived by his son, John Wesley (Rosalinda) Sellers of Portage; granddaughter, Maribel (Steven) Vaught of Chandler, AZ and two great grandchildren, Bryce and Brianna. A funeral service for Arthur will take place Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage.
