In Loving Memory of a Life Well-Lived

Audra Lee Hutcheson Watson 1928-2025

Audra Lee Hutcheson Watson, age 96 of Hobart, Indiana passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, surrounded by her family. With deep love and enduring gratitude, we celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched countless lives with her kindness, her strength, and her unwavering faith. Born in 1928 in Phil Campbell, Alabama, she was one of 13 children born to Thomas Jefferson Hutcheson and Minnie Mae Hutcheson. From those early days in a small Alabama town, she grew into a woman of incredible resilience and unmatched love- a matriarch whose life's legacy will carry on for generations.

She worked as a seamstress for over 80 years, and her craftsmanship was renowned far and wide. As one loyal customer once said, "I've traveled the world and never found anyone better." Her hands shaped not just fabric, but lives. She lived for others – serving, loving, giving- and never once asked for anything in return.

She was a woman of deep and abiding faith, a cornerstone of the Jubilee Worship Center for over 30 years. There, she was known not only as a devoted member but as a living example of Christ's love in action. Her faith never wavered. Her love never faltered.

She is survived by siblings, Voncile David and Odis Hutcheson. Her children, Robert, Karen, Brenda, Connie (Jeff); her grandchildren who lovingly named her "Momo", Jimmy (Lori), Samantha, Regina, Dana (Joey), Patricia (Rick), Ron (Jackie), Leanne, Bobby (Kim), Katelyn, step grandchildren, Nick (Megan), Karen (Nick); 24 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Thomas and Minnie Hutcheson, her dear siblings, Gladys Hutcheson, Luis Ray Hutcheson, Norman Hutcheson, Lowell Hutcheson, Owen Hutcheson, Janice Holcomb, Marge Pounders, Ima-Jean Wood, and Julia Vinson; her beloved husband, James Watson; her precious granddaughters, Kelsey Flanagan, Ellie Wood; step-grandson, Kyle Slease; and her caring son-in-law, Ronald Boozer. We find peace in knowing they welcomed her with open arms as she passed from this world into eternal rest.

Though we mourn her loss, we celebrate her life with full hearts. She was our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and mentor. She was our hero, our rock, our example, our home. And now – she is our angel.

She will be deeply missed, but never, ever forgotten.

She will always be our Sew Awesome 1
