AUGUSTINE Z. HERNANDEZ, age 83, of Lake Station, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013. Augustine was born on August 28, 19 29 in Mexico City, Mexico to the late Theodore and Francisca Hernandez. He had been a 63 year resident of Lake Station and was retired from the Budd Co. Augustine was a member of Holy Angels Cathedral where he served as Director of music for the Holy Angels Spanish Choir, was a past president of Holy Name and served as a cursillista.

Augustine is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carmen; 6 children, Evelyn Hernandez, Lydia (Magdaleno) Aceves, Augustine (Eve) Hernandez, Jr., Elsie Hernandez, Olga (Richard) Maggio, and Edwin (Evonne) Hernandez; he will be missed by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; many loving brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a host of other loving family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ruben Hernandez and sister, Lupe Medina.

Funeral services for Augustine will be Thursday, May 30, 2013 beginning with prayers at 9:15 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart and going in procession to St. Francis Xavier Church, 2447 Putnam Street, Lake Station. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. David Kime officiating.
