Austin M. Palmateer

Austin Matthew Palmateer, age 24, passed away suddenly Wednesday November 26, 2025, the tragic result of a car accident. Austin was born October 23, 2001, in Valparaiso, Indiana to Terry and Jennifer (Richardson) Palmateer, Jr. He worked as a cook at Coopers Hawk Restaurant. Austin was a lifelong northwest Indiana resident. He enjoyed playing football and wagering on football games. He also loved umpiring Youth League Softball games for ages eight years and up.

Austin is survived by his parents, Jennifer (Jason) Rogers and Terry (Tori) Palmateer, Jr.; his five children, Colton, Kinsley, Austin, Jr., Greyson, and a baby boy coming soon; five siblings, Spring, Wynter, Samantha, Isaiah, and Sophia; many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, and additional family members.

He went to meet his great grandparents, Papa, and his baby nephew Glenn in Heaven.

Funeral services for Austin will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday December 4, 2025, at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Ave. Portage, Indiana 46368. His visitation will be held Thursday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow.
