Barbara G. (nee Rader) Burkhart, age 72, of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019. She was born on January 11, 1947 in Richwood, West Virginia to the late Lewis and Ruth Rader. On April 28, 1966, she married Ronald J. Burkhart in Smithers, West Virginia. Together they moved to Northwest Indiana in 1972. She was a dedicated member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Valparaiso. She was employed as a secretary there and thoroughly enjoyed the work she did for them.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald Burkhart; daughter, Cynthia (Kevin) Morgan; grandchildren, Sophia De Leon and Grant Morgan; brother, Arthur Rader; sisters, Vivian (Arnold) Greene, Patsy (Harry) McClung, Bonnie (Jimmy) Coleman, Brenda (Larry) Green, Debbie (Greg) Fontalbert.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Rader and William Rader.

Memorial contributions in Barbara's name may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Visitation for Barbara will take place Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 760 McCool Road, Valparaiso, IN 46385. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 8, 2019 at 10:00 am at Emmanuel Baptist with Rev. John Allen officiating. She will be laid to rest at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow, West Virginia at a later date.
