Barbara A. Crowe

Barbara A. Garrard Crowe, age 88, of Sun City, Arizona and formerly of Portage passed away June 13, 2025. She was born on January 5, 1937, in Oblong, Illinois to the late Ray and Reba Calvert. Barbara retired from Myers Elementary where she worked as a librarian. She was a talented seamstress and loved to quilt. When she was younger, she liked square dancing and camping. Above all, she cherished her family, especially the time she spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Glenda (Robert) Dixon of Portage; grandson, Bryan (Kayla) Dixon; great grandchildren, Maverick and Maddox Dixon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Reba Calvert; first husband, Lester "Leon" Garrard; second husband, Richard Crowe; grandson, Kevin Dixon; daughter, Brenda Garrard; and her beloved dog, Toby.

Visitation for Barbara will be held Monday, June 23, 2025, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. A funeral service will take place Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 10:00 am at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. For more information, please call (219) 762-3013.
