Barbara J. Harrigan, age 86, of Hobart passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the St Anthony Franciscan Community Hospice. Barbara was born February 16, 1929 in Gary, Indiana to the late Charles and Nell (nee Boger) Potts. Barbara worked for Ginter Realty as a Realtor for 35 yrs. and was an avid Cubs fan. She will be remembered as a loving and giving woman with a contagious smile.
Barbara is survived by three children; Brent Eldridge of Chicago, Illinois, Richard T. (Esther) Harrigan of Chicago, Illinois and Patricia (Charles Zimmer) Harrigan of Simi Valley, California; step-grandson, Jacob Goodman; sister, Sarah Dorsey of Hobart, numerous nephews and nieces and many other loving family members and friends who considered her as their mom.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, H. Richard Harrigan; brother, Thomas Potts; two sisters, Geraldine Dinkmeier and Bernice Pavletich.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rebecca Lynn Smith officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 2:00pm -8:00 p.m.
