Barbara A. Heideman, of Lake Station, passed over into heaven with a smile on her face on Sunday, May 22, 2016 in Pewee Valley, KY. Barbara was born on May 28, 1928 in Pendleton, IN to the late Vernon and Dessie (nee Rhodes) Spaulding. She spent the last 6 years in Louisville, KY, but lived most of her life in Lake Station, IN, where she was a member of Lake Station United Pentecostal Church. Barbara spent her life as a homemaker who always wanted the best for everyone. Barbara loved anything the color pink. Family was the most important thing to her. She will be remembered as a very giving and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Barbara is survived by sons, Steve (Gloria) Heideman of Westville, IN, Mike (Carla) Heideman of Louisville, KY, Greg (Roxie) Heideman of Georgetown, SC; daughters, Christine (Joe) Pridemore of Lake Station, Beth Heideman of Houston, TX; sisters, Verna Lou Wentworth of Elkhart,IN, Barbara Jo of Anderson, IN; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Ray Heideman; son, Gary W. Heideman; and her parents.
A funeral service for Barbara will take place Friday, May 27, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Rd. Hobart, IN 46342. Visitation will be held Friday May 27, 2016 from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart.
