Barbara L. Thompson

Barbara Lynn (née Porubyanski) Thompson, age 67, of Portage, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

Barb was born on May 15, 1958, in East Chicago, Indiana, to the late Alex and Dolores Porubyanski. She enjoyed tending her garden, growing vegetables, and crocheting, and she was an avid dog lover. Barb was currently employed as a receiving clerk at Wal*Mart and took pride in her work.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Larry Thompson; her loyal Laberdane, Molly Thompson; her brother, James (Kathy) Porubyanski; sisters, Rose (Mike) Bandy and Janet (Jeff) Keehn; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Buisseret and Marla (Dennis) Gagnon; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and her lifelong friend, Sally Sherfey.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Dolores Porubyanski.
