Barbara “Jeannie” Underdahl, née Paradine, age 77, of Hobart, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

Barbara was born on February 17, 1949, in Gary, Indiana, to Terry and Susan (née Kieper) Paradine. She was the founder/owner as well as accountant for All American Tire and Auto in Hobart.

Barbara will forever be remembered as a kind, loving, and caring woman who always cared deeply for everyone around her. She had a gentle heart and wouldn’t hurt a fly. Barbara was the glue that held her family together, always bringing everyone closer and making sure her loved ones knew they were cared for. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment they shared together, leaving behind countless treasured memories.

Barbara enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, fishing, and camping. She had a deep love for animals and found happiness in the simple pleasures of nature and being surrounded by the people and animals she loved.

She is survived by her sons, Mark (Jackie) and Jeff (Tara); her grandchildren, April, Kyle, Trevor (Carley), Sean (Calynn), Caden, and Addison; her great-granddaughter, Maycie; a great-grandchild on the way; and her beloved cat, Smokey.

She is also survived by her siblings, Linda Edge, Sharon (Tom) Hagge, and David (Terry) Paradine; her nieces, Laurie (Ryan) Mann, Amy Kopack, and Tonya Beck; and her great-niece, Ainsley Kopack.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Underdahl; her parents, Terry and Susan (née Kieper) Paradine; her brother, Ronnie and Darlene Paradine; and her brother-in-law, Chuck Edge.

Barbara will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her kindness, gentle spirit, unconditional love, and the special place she held at the heart of her family will never be forgotten.
