BEATRICE I. JENT, age 93, formerly of Portage, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Oaks at Town Center in Harrisburg, North Carolina. Beatrice was a former longtime Portage resident and retired inspector from Union Carbide. She had attended Liberty Bible Church.
She is survived by her son, Jack (Julia) Jent of Portage, 6 grandchildren: Denise (Gary) Timm, Cynthia (Azhar) Javed, Jackie (Brian) Sharp-Blough, Josephine Jent, Jack (Samantha) Jent and Julia (Marco) Flowers, 21 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, brother, Cecil (Robie) Harden of Columbus, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her son, C. Leroy Jent and 4 brothers, Delbert, Lester, Gilbert "Joe" and Larry Harden. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Coltrane Life Center, 321 Corbin Ave. S.E., Concord, NC 28025.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 10, 2013 from 10 am until 12:00 noon at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor Craig Demasse officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage.
