Beatrice May (Parrish) Addison, age 89, of Hobart, IN, left this world on Sunday, September 11, with the same grace, beauty, and strength that she lived her life. She was born in Leduc, Alberta, Canada, on Nov. 15, 1926. She made her home in Chicago and Gary with her first husband Chris before moving to Hobart, were she spent the rest of her life. She remarried Elwood in 1971, and they enjoyed many years of fishing, camping, her Schnauzers, her kitties, growing beautiful flowers and veggies in her garden, and celebrating occasions with her family. She loved to travel, and her visits included New Zealand, Fiji, England, Scotland, and one of her favorites, Las Vegas. She was also known to play a mean game of Scrabble.

Bea was a member of the VFW Auxiliary #5365 and The Hobart American Legion Post 54 in Hobart, IN, and participated over the years in many of their activities.

Bea leaves behind many people who loved her very much. Her daughters, Kathy Lazart of Hobart, IN, and Linda Parrish (Frank Rhode) of Chicago, IL, and stepdaughter Marcia Shoupe of Portage, IN, will miss her. She will be fondly thought of by her granddaughter, Julie Lazart Balog (John), and her two great grandsons, Riley and Reece Balog, of Valparaiso, IN; her step grandchildren, Kim (Chuck) Schoon, Mark Kilpatrick, and Holly Frahm; and step great grandchildren, Kelly, Logan, Trenton, Jeanette, and Christopher.

Bea was the loving wife of the late Chris Parrish and the late Elwood (Al) Addison. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher John Lazart, her step grandson, Matthew Kilpatrick, and her siblings, Bill, Ray, and Molly, all of Canada.

Her family asks you to join them in celebrating her life and sharing your memories at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN, from 4-8, on Thursday, Sept. 15, with a memorial service at 7. A private family burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
